​Professional cowboy poets Jo Lynne Kirkwood, C.R. Wood and Thatch Elmer will perform. Prior to their performance we will open the mic for amateur poets.

Jo Lynne Kirkwood

Jo Lynne Kirkwood’s poems reflect her intimate relationship with the land and the people of the Arizona Strip country, as well as an often tongue-in-cheek appreciation for daily agricultural life in central Utah, where she and her husband Michael now live. Audiences will find themselves laughing, and sometimes crying, to tales of cowboy and country life, trials, tribulations, and comedy. Her poetry has received numerous awards and has been published in magazines and anthologies.

C.R. Wood

C.R. Wood is an auctioneer and horse show/rodeo announcer. His poems reflect
the family stories of his Cowboy progenitors,  personal rodeo experiences, and a few pure flights of cowboy fantasy.

Thatch Elmer 

  Thatch Elmer is 16 yrs. old and resides in a small Equine community in Northern Utah called Harrisville. 
Thatch started performing Cowboy Poetry at age 9 in Heber City Utah with a 15-minute open mic slot that literally changed His life Forever.
A working Ranch Cowboy and Horseman at the Pheasant Run Ranch Performance Horse & Roping Center Thatch uses his day to day work with Horses and Cattle to portray in his writing of the western lifestyle through his experiences.
